In the face of a large number of reference books on tea culture, how to promote Yunnan Pu'er tea culture with Jingmai Mountains centered, has brought the values of the author's writing. Since 2019, the author has been mainly engaged in tea training in English, tutoring international tea lovers, and mirroring the perspective of wine. Therefore, after several years of polishing, the writing perspective emerged bit by bit and was finally completed "Love in Burgundy"  in December 2021 and "Love in Jingmai Mountain" in 2023, which are twin works.

Love in Burgundy

"Love in Burgundy" is about stories mainly happenned in Burgundy, France. It is based on the love story between Thierra and Misu. It is a great love for French wine and Chinese Pu'er tea, as well as a decent love for the land that gives birth to wonderful things. This book uses an almost line-drawing technique to outline the romance between a man and a woman concisely but with colorful and warm brushes. It focuses on the past and present life of wine and Pu'er tea, as well as the tasting enjoyment, and uses delicate meticulous painting techniques to promote Chinese Pu'er tea and popularize wine culture by the whole romantic novel!

China is the origin of world tea. Tea culture has been deeply integrated into Chinese people's lives and has become an important carrier of inheriting Chinese culture. And wine has a history of thousands of years in Europe. France is the center of European wine culture, and Burgundy is a prestigious production region that wine lovers yearn for. Tea and wine are not incompatible. You can drink wine with close friends thousand cups, or drink tea and savor life.

Through the twelve chapters of this book, following the perspective of Thierra and Misu, wine and tea served as a bridge to integrate groups beyond cultures, ages, and genders. By connecting the knowledge of wine and tea through observation, experience, and dialogue, you can not only learn about viticulture, processing, and wine serving but also study China's tea culture in an international language. This is a rare book, creating the dialogues between tea and wine, and experiencing the exchange and resonance between East and West in culture and lifestyle.

This book takes the acquaintance, encounter, and love of Thierra and Misu as clues, leading us to appreciate the scenery and regional culture in Burgundy. Both Burgundy wine and Pu'er tea pay great attention to "terroir". Terroir refers to the sum of all environmental factors in the area where grape vines or tea trees grow, including geographical environment, soil, climate, weather, and other factors. Due to the differences in altitude, soil, microclimate, and other factors in each small production area, wine and tea produced in different places will have varied flavors and prices. The chapters introduce how historically monks would divide different plots by personally tasting the soil, which they passed down from generation to generation.

This book is different from the many books I have seen before which explain the Burgundy production area and the local "terroir". It tells us more comprehensively about the "customs". Gifted by nature, there are also hard-working people, including devout winemakers, and winery owners who love this land. The family wine vineyard is of great significance to them, carrying their memories, family inheritance, elders’ kindness, and love for the land. Tea and wine have their own merits, but the human factor is indispensable. Tea makers and winemakers inject soul into them, and they are both embodiments of the craftsmanship spirit. Misu has learned the essence of producing high-quality Burgundy wine and Pu'er tea, the fruits of exploring nature, understanding nature and respecting nature, and the crystallization of heaven, earth, and man.

In the book, Misu holds attentively each tea party with foreign friends. The environment, tables, and utensils are all prepared with a sense of ceremony. Every time, it is a grand meeting of ideas for cultural exchange between the East and the West, using tea as a matchmaker and making friends through it. The continuous integration in the process of communication has shortened the distance between people. During the tea and wine conversation, Thierra and Misu get to understand each other better, and their relationship is fermenting step by step.

Civilizations communicate between diversities, and learn from each other through exchanges, mutual learning then achieves development, therefore, development promotes the diversity of human civilization. "Love in Burgundy" shows the timeless fragrance of tea, implying the subtlety and humbleness of the East; The fragrance of wine overflows, which coincides with the enthusiasm and unrestrainedness of the West. These two drinks represent two different ways of savoring life and interpreting the world. I hope that more works like this will be available, accelerate the internationalization of Chinese tea, and Chinese tea will be better and more comprehensively understood by the whole world.

"Pu'er tea from China, Jingmai Mountians for the world". Here, there are trees and forests, the deep tranquility of the original dense forest, the sea of clouds rising and falling in the mountains with the morning light, the long-standing ancient villages, Buddhist temples, and the vigorous tea trees, all of which outline the most beautiful scenery of Jingmai Mountains. The people of Jingmai Mountain have lived on the mountain for generations and maintained contiguous tea forests. As time passes, Jingmai Tea Mountains has a tea history of thousands of years. Such a completed ancient tea forest cultural landscape has been preserved, allowing Jingmai Mountains to apply for World Heritage successfully. It is also destined that the Jingmai Mountains will become the "Window to the World " of Pu'er tea culture and the "Tea Tree Kingdom". Pu'er tea is the emblem of Chinese culture. In Jingmai Mountain, the mountain has not changed, the tea trees are greener, and the ancient villages are more intoxicating. With a cup of fragrant tea, you can travel to the tea mountain every year.

The book contains twenty-one chapters, and each chapter follows the perspective of Misu. While exploring the secrets of the ancient tea forest in Jingmai Mountain, she also feels the unique folk customs of local ethnic minorities and the Pu'er tea culture that has been passed down for thousands of years. Flipping through the book, which smells of tea, and following the protagonists along the storyline, readers are shown that every plant and tree in Jingmai Mountain is full of love. The Bulang people have a tea ancestral temple -- Aileng Temple and the Dai people also have a tea temple, whose tea ancestor is called Zhao Nuo La. For thousands of years, people of all ethnic groups in the Jingmai Mountains have lived in harmony and thrived with tea for generations, demonstrating the simple ecological ethics and wisdom of harmony between man and nature, and harmony between people. It is worth visiting a holy place in the eyes of tea drinkers around the world, tasting tea, and diving deep into the ancient tea forest. The protagonists taste the moonlight white, sun-dried black tea, raw Pu'er tea, ripe Pu'er tea of Jingmai Mountain, etc, and compare them with French wine to show that Pu'er tea's aging potential, it becomes mellow, soft, and smooth with time, truly as the appreciated life.

In the book, Misu says, "If tea is a kind of music, then other teas are pop music, simple and easy to understand; while different styles of Pu'er tea are classical music or symphonies of different musicians, although it takes some time to fall in love with it, once you get into it, you won’t be able to put it down.” It is true that the charm of Pu'er tea can only be experienced by personal experience. Regardless of nationality, men, women, old or young, Pu'er tea is life, and Pu'er tea is love.

"Love in Jingmai Mountain" is based on the love between Misu and Thierra. The heroine met and fell in love with Thierra in a foreign country, and then reunited cordially after returning to China for a long time. The story is like Jingmai's tea and French wine. The story uses Jingmai Mountain Pu'er tea as a medium, by describing the ecology, nature, folk customs, history, and culture of Jingmai Mountain and many other elements, the story of a love and tea trip between a Chinese and a French man is fermenting till the happy ending, which is connected with wonderful descriptions and unique insights about Pu'er tea from different perspectives. The ups and downs and progress of tea also promote the concept and realm of harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and the inseparability of man and tea.

This book is about Misu and Thierra truly understanding each other and actively integrating into the place where each other lives, regardless of each other's nationality, identity, living environment, culture, language, and other differences. The love between them has long been beyond nationalities. Misu met Thierra in France and fell in love with each other in Jingmai Mountain in China. The moment Misu took Thierra to explore the rich forest of Jingmai Mountain, she already regarded them as family members and shared her secret holy place. Just as the people of all ethnic groups in Jingmai Mountain coexist harmoniously, Thirra, as a foreigner, is experiencing the local ethnic culture. At the same time, it also represents the imprint of one's own country and the mutual tolerance of Jingmai Mountain. This is what nature has given us humans to pursue beauty and seek common ground while reserving differences.

Such a positive and hard-working young tea lover, she wants to spread tea culture to the world, "Love in Jingmai Mountains" is a work she completed three years after the epidemic. In this book, she injected her unique understanding of tea and implemented it into the revelation of life. , a wonderful journey of natural exploration begins through the love story of an exotic couple. The love of Jingmai Mountains is not only the love between Thierra and Misu, but also the love for Jingmai Pu'er tea, attachment to Jingmai Mountains, nostalgia for friends, and nostalgia for parents. This is in line with people's most authentic fascination with nature. The whole book is relaxing and refreshing. Even if "love" has its ups and downs, the ice and snow will soon melt away and the love will bloom again. Reading the tea is like drinking the best Pu'er tea from Jingmai Mountain.
